Applying Local Solutions Globally
The Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health is a residential "place like home" for sick children and their families. Children come from across the country and around the world to stay together with their families in The Inn's healing environment while receiving groundbreaking medical treatments at the NIH, the world's leading biomedical research center. While the NIH takes care of the child's medical needs, The Inn tends to the child's heart, soul and spirit.
Davis and Associates’ employees, family and friends welcome every opportunity to come out to volunteer at the Children’s Inn. The Firm is proud to support the Family Dinners that the Inn provides for the patients and their families. A lot of time and effort is put into planning special “theme” dinners. The volunteers work to create a unique experience for the families that includes delicious food and special decorations. Volunteers wore pajamas for the holiday season kick off “Breakfast for Dinner” and served up waffles, pancakes, quiche and other assorted breakfast treats. For Valentine’s Day the “That’s Amore” dinner is a very special occasion – the dining room is transformed into an Italian restaurant complete with red checkered tablecloths and flickering “candles”. The Firm believes that even if only one family attends the dinner – the experience should still be very special - everyone goes “all out” to make memorable events complete with a DJ and craft activities for the kids. The dedicated volunteers usually come straight from work and set up to transform the dining room to match the theme. In supporting the Family Dinners – the Firm has one goal – to make the day of at least one family a little brighter.
